If you want to create the car of your dreams and stand out on the
streets, the key is customization with aftermarket body kits. At Express Aero
Kits, we’re a leader in online retail sales of body kits, ground effects, fiberglass
hoods, carbon fiber hoods, Duraflex Bodykits, front bumper, rear bumper, carbon
fiber trunks, front bodykit, rear bodykit, aftermarket hoods and more. You
might know the look you’re after for your vehicle, but it can be overwhelming
to find high quality parts online or even to know where to begin in the
shopping process. Since you are making such a major investment in your vehicle,
you only want the absolute best. If you are beginning your search for
aftermarket auto parts and custom body kits, here are a few tips from the pros
at Express Aero Kits to help get you started.

Get familiar with body kits and aftermarket products: There are so
many aftermarket auto parts and body kits manufacturers on the market – and all
have their own unique attributes and benefits. Many companies produce similar
style kits but utilize different names for their styles, so getting familiar
with some of the major body kits brands will really help you out as you start
your search. Not sure how to find what you are looking for? Express Aero Kits
has a world class team of auto experts and customer service staff that can help
guide you through the process, making it as smooth and easy as possible.

Check if your parts are “street legal”: Some aftermarket
hoods, ground effects and body kits look incredible – but your local law
enforcement may not think so. Before making an investment, it’s always good to
check out your state and city laws to ensure that your modifications are
“street legal” and won’t get you pulled over or slapped with any huge fines.

Get a picture in mind: Check out
examples of what others have done with similar make and model vehicles. It
might spark your imagination – or lead you to find the exact look or part you
have been thinking of (or didn’t even know existed).

It never hurts to ask: Don’t see the aftermarket
ground effects or body kits you’re looking for? It never hurts to ask. Most
reputable online retailers, such as Express Aero Kits, have close relationship
with retailers and manufacturers and may be able to get you the exact part you
need, without all the hassle of searching for hours online or on auction web
sites.

Make sure you understand shipping costs: A great online
aftermarket auto parts retailer will be upfront about shipping costs and work
to minimize costs related to shipping – rather than trying to overprice
everything and create a huge cost for you. An online retailer should not be
attempting to profit on shipping.

Remember, shopping for
aftermarket auto parts should be fun – and easy! At Express Aero Kits, we make
buying aftermarket parts and body kits a truly enjoyable, educational and
rewarding experience. Our customer service team is always on-hand to answer any
question you might have and to help you create the custom car of your dreams.

Want a car that really stands out? Aftermarket hoods improve performance and really add some serious visual appeal to your vehicle. There are a lot of aftermarket hoods available on the market – but you need to do your homework before you start shopping. Many online aftermarket hood and body kits offer incredible prices that seem too good to be true – and often are. Here are a few tips to ensure that you are getting the absolute best deal on aftermarket hoods, body kits, ground effects and other aftermarket auto parts.

Buy aftermarket parts from a reputable source: This seems like a “no brainer”, but it can be hard to determine which online aftermarket auto parts retailers are trustworthy. Just because a company has a nice looking website, doesn’t mean that it’s a reputable aftermarket parts dealer. You must check online reviews and also check if the seller is verified. Ask questions before you buy – and ensure that you will be able to speak with a customer service representative if any situation were to arise with your order.

Check the quality: Aftermarket parts can vary quite drastically in quality. Some aftermarket parts and body kits may or may not meet or exceed OEM requirements.

Avoid universal parts when possible: A universal aftermarket auto part is a part that fits more than one type of vehicle, and may require modification to fit a specific vehicle. Universal parts are typically less expensive, but they can be much more difficult to install than parts designed for your specific vehicle.

Check in with your body shop before you buy: For those of you who aren’t into the whole “DIY” installation process, get the opinion of your body shop on specific parts before you buy. They can offer insight on the quality of the parts and may have had experience working with these specific body kits and aftermarket hoods. Also ensure that your body shop has the experience and skill to actually install the parts. The repair shop before you go.

Brand name matters: When buying aftermarket body kits and ground effects, brand names matter. For example, DuraFlex Bodykits come with a superior reputation for top quality and performance. Look into an online retailer that carries some of the big brands to guarantee that you are getting something that will last.

Want the best in body kits and ground effects? If you’re tired of your boring stock vehicle, take the plunge with us and start modifying your vehicle. Make it your own!

Today we’re going to discuss the difference between Polyurethane body kits and ABS plastic body kits. A lot of you wonder the difference between these two things.

Polyurethane, or commonly referred to as urethane, is a very popular material for car body kits. This material is more difficult and costly to produce, therefore it is a bit more costly, but like we’ve mentioned in previous blogs, it is much more flexible than fiberglass meaning that it’s easier to install and more durable. Also, the as-delivered fit and finish of polyurethane is superior than fiberglass. It’s much easier to ‘coax’ polyurethane into position during installation without fear of cracking or breaking the body part. One thing to remember is that polyurethane is heavier than fiberglass so you may not want to put it on a car that you’re racing.

With ABS plastic, you get a thermoplastic that’s made by polymerizing styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of polybutadiene. The result of this is a material that combines the strength and rigidity of acrylonitrile and styrene polymers with the ruggedness of the polybutadiene rubber. When you use ABS plastic, you get a material that is impact, chemical, and heat resistant. Plus, ABS plastic is very widely used by OEM for body panels. Much like polyurethane, ABS plastic also has superior fit and finish that is found to be more expensive than fiberglass. It’s a little less flexible than polyurethane, but it’s found to be easier to paint.

The most asked question that we face from customers are , " Will a body kit improve my vehicle value or reduce it ?"

Well of course it will increase it as you are adding extra accessories in your vehicle. For example if you go to a car dealer and buy a base model vehicle which costs $15,000 and add $3.000 worth of accessories the value of that vehicle will increase to $18,000. A full body kit not only improves the overall look of your vehicle but also makes it more aero dynamic.

Full Body Kits

So when you try to resell your vehicle you will have more value for your car because you added extra accessories to it.

For a better example : Imagine yourself wearing a Pajama .

We had a great time at the 2014 SEMA Auto Trade Show in Vegas in November. We were looking to make connections and find out what’s new in the industry for our customers. The highlights of the show were seeing the performance Camaros, Corvettes, Mustangs, Chargers and more tear it up on the track, meeting the vendors and talking shop with the reps.

The muscle cars weren’t just looking amazing with urethane fitouts, carbon fiber hoods or bumper lips and Duraflex body kits, they were modified for speed and performance. There were tons of tough trucks with sweet body kits as well.

We loved getting to catch up with those we had met at previous trade shows and seeing what they brought to the show this year. One thing we especially missed this year was Chip Foose doing donuts. (Perhaps he’s gotten too popular to have time for donuts). We certainly enjoyed when he had the time. The other celebrity events we saw were fun and interesting. We love every chance we can get to see new innovations and meet the best in the business. SEMA is the perfect place to do this, they had tons of experts to share about industry trends and products. Each of four halls were jam packed with cars of all shapes, colors, makes and models.

We can take advantage of knowing about each of these to bring the best to you, our customer, and give you what you are looking for. Watching the vehicles tear it up on the track was amazing. There were plenty of restorations and concept cars. Also on display were plenty of custom exotic vehicles, like the Lamborghini Aventador. We had our eye out for the cars with the hottest modifications out there and up and coming products from body kit lines we know you will love.
Carbon Fiber, The Champ of Aftermarket Body Kits

Carbon fiber is a material that’s used in making aftermarket body kits. In previous blogs we’ve discussed fiberglass and urethane. Every material has pros and cons to using them for modifying cars. Some are lower in cost. Others are more durable. Still another might be flexible. Before buying, research according to your needs to find what materials are going be a best fit.

Carbon fiber (carbon fiber reinforced polymer) gives the part a very strong and very lightweight material for cars. It’s a polymer resin that bonds carbon fibers. It was first used for NASA and has become a very common material in manufacturing body kits. When purchased, it typically comes with a clear-coat and is ready to install. Carbon fiber is a very easily identifiable material. It has a unique shimmery black weave pattern texture that is characteristic.

Some of the drawbacks to using carbon fiber is that it’s more expensive than fiberglass and urethane. The benefit of paying the higher price would be to lighten the OEM parts by up to 70%. It will also bring a unique look to the vehicle that other materials cannot give. One word of caution is to be sure that if you install a hood, also install pins to secure the hood. Because of the lightweight the hood could fly open and hit the windshield, doing damage. The fibers, however strong can splinter upon impact rather than crumpling like metal.

With carbon fiber body kits, the price will vary depending on the filament, grade of the weave and the method for creating the product. As is with most investments, the higher the quality, the higher the price. This is not always the case, but it may benefit you to look at the quality of the product before buying.

See our previous blog, which discussed using fiberglass aftermarket body kits for modifying your car. All materials for body kits have pros and cons. It is up to you to figure out what your goals are and how much you can spend to reach those goals for your car. Some modifications are done to improve the look of the vehicle. Other modifications are done to improve speed and function of the car for racing. Polyurethane, also called urethane, is another option for car kits.

With urethane, the fit will be more snug than the fiberglass because it is more flexible and can be maneuvered into position a little easier. The finish will also stay nicer longer than fiberglass. It will withstand minor flexing and minor impact without cracking or splintering. You know that your investment will last, especially if this vehicle is your everyday car.

The downside to urethane, for some people, is that it is heavier than fiberglass and carbon fiber parts. This will not help in reducing the weight of the car for those who are racing and looking to lose some weight. Even still, if you’re looking to get the whole car modified with a body kit, instead of buying all one material, you could buy parts of urethane for their durability and other parts that don’t flex when driving, like the hood, in another material that is lighter and less flexible, like fiberglass or carbon fiber.

At Express Aero Kits, we have parts in a variety of materials and brands. We guarantee fitment on all our parts. Shop our store today by the vehicle or by the part you’re looking for to personalize your car, truck or SUV.

Full fiberglass car bodies have been used in racing for decades. They offer a light solution to maximize the speed of the vehicle for the driver. However, while fiberglass is used in stock vehicles for a road car, the full fiberglass body isn't practical or durable.

One solution for personalizing your car is to add an aftermarket body kit. It will lighten your car and that can help with increasing speed. Some of the benefits of switching out fiberglass for the stock steel includes decreasing the weight, but the parts can also help with the aerodynamic flow as well. The fiberglass parts are also aesthetic without adding extra weight of other heavier alternative materials like urethane.

Even though there are other newer, more innovative materials available, fiberglass still persists as a commonly used material for car modifications. Fiberglass is easy to manufacture and form to look like it’s steel counterpart. It is also cost-effective when purchasing. Another benefit is it’s also anti-corrosive in nature, unlike metal. This is beneficial especially where corrosive deicers are used in clearing the roads in cold temperatures.

Now for the cons. Because road cars are exposed to different elements and terrain than race cars, they are more prone to splitting, splintering and chipping. It doesn’t stand up to crashes well. In addition, the material is not as light as others available today.

You can find fiberglass body kits in many places, but at Express Aero Kits, we offer an extensive selection of aftermarket body kits.
